What Is CrossFit?

What is CrossFit Mini Red.jpg

CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity.

What does that mean?

  • Constantly Varied:  No two workouts are the same.  The "Workout of the Day" or WODs vary in movements, length of time, difficulty and intensity to avoid plateauing and ensure comprehensive fitness, rarely repeating the same routine.

  • Functional Movements: These are compound movements—like squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses—that mimic natural, everyday motions designed to improve overall functionality and strength.

  • High Intensity: Workouts are designed to produce maximum power (force  distance/time) in a short duration, designed to improve cardiovascular endurance and metabolic conditioning.

CrossFit is also infinitely scalable.  WODs have prescribed weights and movements which can be tailored to any athlete's fitness level.  You will find our classes have a mix of members with varying abilities and goals working out side by side to promote community and accountability.
